Welcome to Thurston County SAR 
The Thurston County Search and Rescue Council (Thurston County SAR Council) is a composite council. The council is made up of volunteer teams and units who represent speciality areas, such as ground searchers, mobile or 4x4 teams, search dog teams, emergency communications teams, mounted search teams (horses), and command staff team. These teams are made of up of volunteers from the local community that dedicate their time and money to serve the community in its time of need.

In Times of Need Thurston County SAR Supports:
An all-county SAR units Mock Search was held March 28 & 29th. Multiple stations were set up to test basic search and rescue skills such as subject assessment and evacuation, Hasty search with clues, grid search techniques, and a search for five different subjects. Units involved were: Thurston County Washington Explorer Search and Rescue, Thurston County Jeep Patrol, South Puget Sound Mobile Search and Rescue, and German Shepherd Search Dogs out of Pierce County.
